پیامک‌های وزارت بهداشت و اخبار و مطالب و توصیه‌های مختلف راجع به ویروس کرونا همهٔ ما را خسته کرده است. اما فکر می‌کنم در میان همهٔ این مطالب جای یک موضوع خالیست. آیا ما معماری‌خواندگان از تجربهٔ چنین بحرانی می‌توانیم درسی بیاموزیم؟

در این روزها بعضی‌ها این امکان را داشتند برای اجتناب از بیماری در خانه بمانند و جز به ضرورت از آن خارج نشوند. من هم جزو این افراد بودم. تجربهٔ خانه‌نشینی باعث شد به این موضوع فکر کنم که فضای خانه‌های امروز ما تا چه حد برای اقامت طولانی مدت مناسب است؟

اگر بخواهیم خانه‌های معمول امروز را از حیث داشتن امکانات فضایی و کالبدی برای پاسخ‌دادن به نیازهای روحی و جسمی ساکنان برای مدتی طولانی بسنجیم، قطعاً بیشتر آنها در چنین آزمونی مردود می‌شوند. خانه‌های قشر متوسط و ضعیف جامعهٔ امروز ما به هیچ‌وجه مناسب اقامت طولانی‌مدت نیستند. این خانه‌ها بیشتر به خوابگاه شبیه‌اند.

برای درک بهتر وضعیت خانه‌های آپارتمانی امروز را با یک خانهٔ حیاط‌دار مقایسه کنید. منظورم یک خانهٔ سنتی اعیانی مثل خانهٔ عامری‌های کاشان نیست؛ یک خانهٔ حیاط‌دار کوچک و معمولی پنجاه سال پیش مثلاً. از حیث امکان سکونت طولانی‌مدت، خانه‌های حداقلی امروز در مقایسه با خانه‌هایی که در گذشته‌ای نه چندان دور می‌ساختیم بسیار نامطلوب‌اند.

امروز به علل مختلف خانه‌ها را با کمترین فضای باز و نیمه‌باز خصوصی طراحی می‌کنیم. اما فارغ از بحران فعلی، افراد بسیاری بخاطر معلولیت یا از کار افتادگی یا پیری، و با توجه به وضع بسیار اسف‌بار شهری امروز، ناچارند مدت‌هایی طولانی خانه‌نشین باشند. آیا فکری به حال آنها کرده‌ایم؟ می‌دانم که در مقایسه با سیاست‌مداران و قانون‌گذاران و کارفرمایان، کار زیادی از دست ما طراحان برنمی‌آید. با این حال آیا می‌توانیم نقش و تأثیر معماران در وضعیت موجود را نادیده بگیریم؟

شاید یکی از درس‌هایی که ما باید از بحران فعلی بگیریم همین باشد که پس از این فکری هم به حال ساکنان همیشگی فضاها کنیم. شاید بتوانیم با تمهیداتی معمارانه وضعیت را اندکی بهبود ببخشیم یا لااقل در برابر برخی خواسته‌های کارفرمایان سودجو بیش از پیش مقاومت کنیم.
